My Visit to The Deep, Hull
This year I want to do more, and see more, so the first thing on my list was to go and visit The Deep in Hull because I have never been before, and I am so glad I did, I loved it.
The building itself is designed like a ship looking out to the Humber estuary which is a brilliant design and cannot be missed, it invites you in as soon as you see it.
The Deep is a non-profit education and conservation charity that is there to help the animals while entertaining and teaching us. As well as all 5000+ individual animals cared for there, the information given to you about the 4 billion years of ocean history and it inhabitants is brilliant. As your making your way round all the different tanks and enclosures, you come across little boards or interactive stations that are very entertaining and informative. You definitely learn a lot while you’re there as well as having a lot of fun.
Now down to the animals!
It’s really cleverly designed, which I didn’t actually realize at first because I was way too interested in everything around me but, it actually takes you into the deep, zone by zone showing you what you’ll see as you get further down into the sea.
There are thousands of very colourful and interesting fish, beautiful Gentoo Penguins, Red- Bellied Piranha, Sawfish, Rays, Jellyfish, Sharks and much, much more but that is all I am going to say because I want you to go and take a look for yourself! It honestly is so good and will only take you a couple of hours to walk round. It’s also great for all ages with something for everyone, even having a nice little soft play area for the kids, they will not get bored, and neither will you.
There is also an offer on at the moment where you can return for free within a year once you have purchased a ticket (which I will be taking full advantage of), and the price to visit is very reasonable, and knowing that your money is going straight to help the animals makes it even more reasonable.

Go and see for yourself, what have you got to loose? I promise you will enjoy it!
