A solution to Redness with Clinique
For as long as I can remember I’v suffered with redness on my cheeks, and sometimes it can flare up quite bad to the point where I can hardly cover it at all. So a couple of years ago I went on the hunt for a foundation that might work for me when my redness flares up. Then I was introduced to the Clinique Redness Solutions.
There is only 4 shades to choose from on the Clinique site and nothing to suit a very pale skin tone. I use the lightest shade, Calming Alabaster, which actually suits me fine, but if I was any more pale I would definitely have to add a lighter foundation to help it match my skin tone. So if your interested in trying out this foundation, you really need to try a tester first.
Clinique states that this foundation: camouflages redness. The soothing oil-free formula instantly colour-corrects flushing & blushing. Beneficial probiotic technology helps strengthen skin’s barrier. Keeps environmental triggers at bay with SPF plus antioxidants.
The packaging is quite simple, easy to use with a squeeze & drip applicator, not the standard pump action. It’s small, easy to pack, with a screw on lid which makes it perfect. No need to worry about it leaking anywhere if you chuck it in your bag, & all the need to know information is given on the packaging.
The application needs minimal effort. It blends nicely using a brush or a beauty blender. You only need to use a small amount to achieve a smooth all over the face, natural look, and it creates a great base ready for the rest of your makeup
I’d say the coverage is medium to high & easily buildable if you are wanting a really high coverage. It looks flawless and completely eliminates all of my redness.
There is one thing that I don’t like about this foundation that I need to point out. It’s extremely dewy, too much in fact, to the point where you can hardly touch your face without taking all the foundation off and transferring it to what ever else you touch because it’s so sticky. It also says that the foundation is oil free, I can’t imagine how, it’s definitely not suitable for anyone with an oily skin type. But that is all easily solved by the magic of setting powder. if you are planning on grabbing this foundation, honestly go for it, it’s brilliant, but make sure you do also grab a powder.
Overall; Well, I’ve been using this foundation for over 3 years and I still repurchase every time I run out. I am a makeup junkie so I’m constantly trying out new foundations, but I always have this in my makeup bag. Clinique states that it contains probiotic technology to help strengthen the skins barrier, but I can’t say I’v noticed this because I haven’t really checked, plus I switch up my foundations quite regular.. The foundation does have it’s little flaws, but nothing too much to worry about for me and I will continue to love it for as long as I have redness on my cheeks.
Let me know if you’ve tried this foundation & what you thought of it in the comments
