Younique Lip Stain & Blush
At the beginning of this month, the lovely Jayne, sent me a couple of products to try out. Like I’ve said in a couple of previous posts, Younique presenters have quite a bad name, which in my opinion they do not deserve. Many of the presenters are just trying to make a living, running their own business, usually so they can stay home & bring up their children. Fair enough. Jayne is one of the most loveliest people I have spoken to, so when she asked if she could send me a few products to review, I jumped at the chance, not only because I love quite a lot of the Younique products, but because I also really wanted to support her with her business.
Here’s what I thought of the products:
Stiff Upper Lip Lip Stain (right swatches below)
When I first heard about the lip strains, honestly, I didn’t think I would like them at all, I couldn’t imagine how they would feel on the lips, or how they would look. But when I tried my first one, I was very pleasantly surprised.
The application is so easy, it’s so hard to explain the consistency because they aren’t watery, but they aren’t thick either. This makes it easy to apply all around the lips without smudging or bleeding. They blend well & more than one coat can be applied, without it looking patchy, if you want a really really good colour payoff. But, as with most lipsticks and such, if your lips are dry, it will cling to dry patches, so using a good exfoliator before, or applying lip balm after really helps.
They dry quite quickly too, so there’s no waiting around for it to set, then the colour doesn’t budge, and there’s no more lipstick marks around your cuppa.
But, as you must have guessed, it’s a lip stain, which isn’t as scary as it sounds, really. It does need a bit more effort to get it off fully, but it’s not enough to put me off.
The colours I have are Shy & Sultry. Shy being a pink shade & Sultry being a dark red with a hint of pink. I already have pretty dark lips, so the colour shy doesn’t show up very pink on me, but on the swatch, you can definitely tell that it’s pink. It’s pretty light so 2 coats work best if your wanting a full colour, but it also looks really subtle, like a tint with just 1 coat. Sultry only needs 1 coat to get a good colour pay off because it’s very pigmented and it’s a really nice red. I’m definitely not a red lips sorta girl, but I really like this one.
Moodstuck Mineral Blush (left swatch)
okay, just look at the colour, seriously. omg. It’s perfect. Anyway, on to the review..
I’m always a little nervous with blushes, I don’t often try new ones, once I find one that I like & I know won’t make me look like a clown I usually stick to it, but I went for it & gave the beautiful colour Sweet a go, and if you haven’t already guessed. I love it. It is very pigmented, which is actually a good thing (if you don’t apply too much) because you only need the tiniest bit to add a flush to the cheeks, so this blush is going to last a loooong time, and for the price, you’d definitely expect it too. It’s extremely creamy and soft, making it so easy to apply and look natural, it blends really well, and of course it’s the perfect colour. I have literally used this everyday since I received it.
If you are interested in purchasing these items, or any of the Younique products (I have a few reviews here: Concealer, Powder & Primer, Foundation) Here is the link to Jaynes shop, items purchased through her shop can be shipped to all these countries listed here, and Jayne also has a facebook page here where she will be happy to answer any questions.
What do you think of these gorgeous products? Have you tried anything from Younique?
