Back in June I wrote a post all about the gorgeous Avon Perfectly Matte Lipstick range, and included swatches of all 20 shades, well I’m back to share with you a new range that Avon are launching and that is the Avon True Colour Perfect Reds.
Avon gave reps a chance to buy all 7 new changes in sample form, so I went ahead and purchased them to try them all out and share my thoughts with you. In this new range, there are 7 beautiful reds ranging from light/bright reds to really dark plum reds, created to match your skin tone & hair colour.
Left to right: Berry Berry Nice, Lava Love, Scarlet Siren, Red 2000, Perfect Red, Cherry Jubilee & Poppy Love
Avon says the colours;
Bery Berry Nice & Lava Love are suited best to blonde hair, fair skin
Scarlet Siren & Red 2000 are suited best to brown hair, fair skin
Perfect Red & Cherry Jubilee are suited best to brown hair, olive skin
Poppy Love & Scarlett Siren are suited best to dark hair, dark skin.
Honestly, I much prefer a matte lipstick over any other, especially at the moment, but I gave these samples a go any way. To me, they feel just like the perfectly matte range, except their not matte. They are really light and creamy, can hardly tell you have anything on your lips and the pigment in every shade is incredible. They last all day long and the only downside that is you may need to use a lip liner for the darker shades to avoid the lipstick bleeding, but that’s not too much of a problem as many of us line out lips anyway!
I’m not really a red lip kinda girl, but the lipsticks in this range are created to match you, by your hair and skin tone. I’ve tried them all out, but Avon say Berry Berry Nice and Lava Love are ‘my colours’ as I have fair skin & blonde hair. Well it’s definitely true. These 2 shades definitely suited me the best & I absolutely love them, but I also adore poppy love, which is a sort of peachy red shade, so even though they are created to help you find your perfect red, it doesn’t mean that you have to stick to it!
Absolutely perfect timing too since Autumn and Winter is just around the corner, I now have my perfect red.
Do you have your perfect red? Will you be giving these a go?
