Which is the Right Concealer for You
Concealer is something I never skip during my makeup routine because they can be used for so many different things. As well as concealing, they can highlight areas, give shape to your face and brighten up dull skin. So I never just use one concealer, I use multiple concealers for multiple skin concerns.
I’ve picked out a selection of amazing concealers that are affordable and easily picked up at Superdrug/Boots & I’ve thrown in just a couple of my favourites that I think everyone needs in their makeup bag.
Maybelline Super Stay 24h £6.19
– shade 2, pink undertone
I think this is probably the first concealer I ever used and I still love it to this day. It’s pretty much your basic good coverage concealer that you can count on to last. I usually reach for this concealer when I just need a bit of coverage here and there to even out my skin tone.
REDNESS & BLEMISHES
Revlon Colorstay £6.99
– shade 02 light, yellow/neutral undertone
This has been my go to for little blemishes around my face for quite a while now, and it’s all down to the fact that the colour I use is perfect for me. The coverage is pretty good and it sits nicely on the skin. It’s not heavy and lasts all day.
L’Oreal True Match Touche Magique £7.99
– shade natural beige, warm yellow undertone
When I’m having a really bad skin day, I want something that’s going to really cover well, I love to use this concealer for major problem areas, like them spots that sit under your skin causing a crazy amount of redness. The concealer is actually for illuminating which works really well, but because it’s such a good coverage, I prefer to use it over my imperfections before I apply foundation.
HIGHLIGHTING AND COVERING DARK CIRCLES
Collection Lasting Perfection £4.19
– shade 1 fair, pinky undertone
I don’t think I need to explain how good this concealer do I? It’s my all time favourite for concealing dark circles and highlighting areas, I reach for this every single day.
Avon Ideal Flawless Matte Liquid £7.00
– shade fair, yellow undertone
I’d say this is pretty much the same as the Collection concealer except the lightest shade has a yellow undertone. It’s really high coverage and highlights darker areas perfectly. It’s really soft & matte once applied, it’s also really buildable for an even higher coverage.
Maybelline Superstay | Avon Ideal Flawless | Collection LP | Rimmel WMU | Revlon Colorstay | L’Oreal True Match | Younique MT
Rimmel Wake Me Up £5.49
– shade 01 ivory, neutral undertone
This concealer is definitely one of my favourites for brightening up my skin, especially under the eyes. It’s got a really good coverage too so it helps to blur out any imperfections and it gives a beautiful warm dewy glow.
THE EVERYTHING CONCEALER
Younique Mineral Touch Skin Perfecting £23
– shade scarlet, pink/neutral undertone
All the good things you hear about this concealer are true, honestly. This is the concealer that does it all. The coverage is incredible and you only need the tiniest amount. Its a thick high pigment concealer that doesn’t feel or look cakey and blends really well. I own this concealer in 2 colours, I use the lightest around my eyes and forehead and the darker shade, that matches my skin tone, to cover the redness on my cheeks and any blemishes. It’s definitely my all time favourite.
