Maybelline Lash Sensational VS Lash Sensational Luscious
We all love Maybelline Lash Sensational, don’t we? I think it’s one of the best mascara’s available at Superdrug/Boots, ever. Well, when I found out, not too long ago, that Maybelline had released a new lash sensational, in a luscious version, I was really excited to try it. This new mascara is different to the original because it is infused with precious oils, which are rose, safflower and argan oil, to create a soft, but dense look. But is there any difference between the two? I’ve compared them both to find out.
The most noticeable difference, other than the colour of the packaging, is the wand. The brand new brush is designed with ten layers of bristles to grab and coat each individual lash with the perfect amount of mascara to create a ‘full-fan effect‘ –Both mascara wands are created, in different ways, to grab every individual lash and reveal layers of lashes, which they both do, even though both wands kind of create completely different looks – in my opinion.
When I tried each of these mascaras, I bought them both brand new so I could compare the consistency and see if there was a difference. As always, both mascaras were quite wet, but instantly settled down after using it a couple of times from the air getting into the tube. The only noticeable difference is that the Luscious mascara is a lot more thicker, which does make application a little harder as you have to work a bit to avoid your lashes clumping together. But I’ve found, as with most mascara’s, that if I apply Avons Supershock first, to set my lashes, it really helps to keep the lashes separated.
Compared to the original Lash Sensational, I would say that the luscious version gives a lot more volume, instead of length, and this is probably because the formula seems a lot more thicker. There isn’t any difference in terms of curl, they both really pull the lashes up and hold them in place, which has got to be my favourite thing about Lash Sensational.
I’ve got to say though, I’ve not really noticed any difference from the ‘precious oils’ but honestly, I didn’t expect to because I can’t seem to understand how it will make my lashes softer? I don’t know, not noticed a difference anyway.
The removal is also quite different. I’ve never had a problem removing the original Lash Sensational, and I didn’t expect to have a problem removing the new version, but I did. It seems to cling a bit to your lashes, but it’s not enough of a problem to put me off because it’s definitely not as hard to remove as some waterproof mascara’s I’ve tried, just takes a little bit more effort I suppose.
Overall, I think I prefer the original. It’s easier to apply and easier to remove, both do give a really good amount of volume and curl, and they’re both quite buildable, I’d probably re-purchase. But if I had to choose just 1 to stick to it’s just got the be, the original.
