January can be either a very busy month or a very lazy month so minimal makeup is a must sometimes. I find that during the week I’m extremely lazy with my makeup and I’ll just use the necessities. I’ve found the perfect 5 products that work together to give a natural beautiful look with minimum time and effort.
For primer I always go for Youniques Glorious face primer, I haven’t actually tried that many, but that’s probably because I know this works so well. I absolutely love it and I’ve never had a problem with it. It keeps my makeup where I need it to be and it really helps to keep my skin soft. What else could I ask for?
For foundation, I like to use L’Oreals true match of course. I know it works, I know it stays put and it’s definitely my go to, so if I’m in a rush I definitely don’t want to be testing out any new foundations. Plus, it matches my skin tone better than any other foundation that I have ever tried.
For blush, highlight & contour I’m kind of cheating – Rimmels Kate Sculpting palette is perfect to get all 3 with just a few swipes so it doesn’t take long at all. I absolutely adore this palette and I reach for it every single day. If I was to choose out of the three to include in the 5 product face it would have to be blush, I do love me some contour but needs must, right?
Since brows probably take the most time during a makeup routine I just stick to what I know with no faffing about. I would much rather skip this step tbh but there’s no chance of me doing that. My brows are ridiculously small and blonde so, yep I need to fill them in! I always go for my trusty Makeup Revolution Shadow that it’s the perfect colour for me and I’ve just not found something as good since, whenever I’ve tried an actual brow product it’s been too dark for me, since my hairs blonde with dark roots I think this powder suites me so much better.
Next of course has got to be mascara and you all know exactly what I am going to say. My trusty Avon Supershock and you are all probably absolutely sick to death of hearing me say that aren’t you. I love this mascara and it’s perfect for when I’m in a rush. There’s literally no messing about with this mascara, no smudging, no clumping, no problems. I love it.
I defintiely don’t have time to be blending out concealer. I might pop a bit under my eyes if I look a bit too dead but otherwise, I just won’t bother.
Powder is one that I was debating over, because actually I love powder but it isn’t necessarily needed, all the time anyway. If my skin was particularly oily, I’d definitely use powder, but if it’s not, I don’t really feel I need it.
Eye shadow is my downfall, I will spend a good 5 -10 minutes blending so I definitely avoid the palettes when I’m in a rush.
I’ve got to admit, I’m not really a big eyeliner fan anyway, I only use it if I fancy it, which is not very often tbh.
If I’m rushing I find lipstick quite stressful, and just end up leaving it. Usually I carry one in my bag anyway if I decide to go for it, but I often forget anyway ha.
