My go to lip colour is nude and has been for as long as I can remember & this has made my nude lip collection grow quite a lot. I love a good pink and sometimes if I’m feeling daring I’ll go for a plum but usually, my go to is nude, I just think they suit me the best if I’m honest. I’ve definitely got a few favourites though, so I’m going to share some of them with you today.
My current favourite formula has got to be liquid lipsticks and my favourite brand for these is definitely NYX. As soon as Boots started to stock NYX over here in the UK I got myself a couple of their Lip Lingerie’s. Lace detail has now become my most used Liquid Lipstick ever and I think I could with repurchasing haha. But I don’t just love Lace detail because of the amazing quality, it is also my favourite colour too. It’s a kind of medium nude, not too light and not too dark with a hint of pink which suits my skin perfectly.
My second favourites are the beautiful Rimmel Kate nudes which I’ve loved for a while now. Number 40 & 42 are absolutely stunning. 40 is quite light and can be a bit hard to wear, but with the right look it looks perfect and 42 is darker shade, but still quite light. I also think Makeup Revolutions The One is quite the same as Rimmel 42, less creamy but near enough the same colour, just a little bit lighter. I actually really like the formula of this particular Makeup Revolution lipstick, it does need a bit of effort to get it going, but once I’ve warmed it up a little in my hands it works brilliant, it lasts and it looks really nice on, not drying in the slightest.
Left to Right – NYX Lip Lingerie Lipli // Rimmel Kate 40 // Rimmel Kate 42 // Makeup Revolution The One // NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Cairo // Colourpop Ultra Mattes Midi // Avon Au Natural
NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Creams are also a formula I’ve come to love. At first, I just couldn’t seem to get on with them, they seemed to wipe away so easily I didn’t see the point in wearing them, but now I love them. I currently own 2, one of them being this gorgeous nude in the shade cairo. They don’t last as long as a liquid lipstick, but they do feel really nice on. Really light and creamy. The colour is really light toned oo, not too pigmented but they add a nice colour.
Last year I also got to try a couple of the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips which I have also become obsessed with. Midi is a beautiful shade with a hint of plum which makes it a little different from your usual nude.
Avon also have a beautiful nude in their matte collection which is Au Natural. I went on about this quite a lot when it was first released because I was completely obsessed with it. This colour is a lovely light brown shade rather than a pale nude and extremely comfortable to wear, you can hardly tell when you’re wearing these because they are so lightweight.
