eBay Finds | 99p Beauty Blender*
I’m a self confessed shopaholic, I literally have to avoid going out if money’s a bit tight because when I see something I want, I legit, cannot help myself. This massive addiction has turned me into a huge bargain hunter. If I see something I want, I’ll make sure to look around to see if I can get it anywhere else at a better price and usually I find myself a bargain. I’ve wanted an original Beauty Blender ever since they became a thing but just refused to pay the extortionate price. I mean, £16 for a sponge, that’s just not something I can afford. Plus, I’m quite in love with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and I’m quite happy with the price too, so I just never bought one.
Being the shopaholic bargain hunter that I am, I came across a ‘Beauty Blender’ for 99p on eBay. I never thought for a second it would be real but curiosity got the better of me and I ordered myself one.
It took about 4 weeks to arrive, I think, it was quite a while ago now, months in fact and it was from China, so it does take about a month. I wasn’t expecting much, but I was really excited about trying it out. I assumed it was going to be just like the pink ones you can get from Primark. Rock hard and impossible to use, turns out, I was completely wrong.
Unfortunately I can’t compare it to the original beauty blenders because I’ve never tried one, but if I compared it to the Real Techniques sponges, I’d say it’s nearly, just as good. As soon as I got it out of the packaging I just knew it was going to be good, it was so soft, unbelievably soft. Because I was so surprised I went to test it straight away. Again I could tell how good it was going to be because of how quickly it soaked in the water and how easy it was to squeeze it out unlike some other sponges that I’ve tried that just seem to hold in all the water. I’d say it probably expanded about a third, which makes it about the size of a Real Techniques blender and still just as soft.
So now that I’d seen how impressive it was so far, I’d got high hopes for how it applied my makeup. It was extremely easy to use, it applied my makeup straight onto my skin and hardly soaked any in to the sponge and my foundation looked flawless. Not patchy what so ever and it applied an even layer all over. I couldn’t believe it. My foundation looked just as good as when I use a Real Techniques sponge, couldn’t tell a difference at all.
I used it a few times and decided to test how easy it was to clean. It’s pretty much the same as any other sponge. It doesn’t come out spotless, but it does clean quite well. It doesn’t go back down to it’s original size either once it’s dried but that doesn’t really matter tbh. It softened though just the same as before and again, worked as well as before.
I was so impressed by this little sponge that I went and ordered 3 more straight away so I’ve got a few just in case the seller stops selling them, I seriously hope they don’t though because they are amazing! I still can’t believe it, what a bargain! Although, I am still extremely curious about this sponge, I mean, how did they make it? it’s £15 cheaper than the original so it does freak me out a bit not knowing much about it but I didn’t have any other reason to be curious. I didn’t react to it or anything, and it didn’t smell weird haha.
I’m not 100% sure if this is the original eBay seller that I bought it from as it was months ago, but it definitely came from China, it was popular and this is the highest listing. So, if you want to give this amazing 99p ‘Beauty Blender’* a go, here is the link. (**currently priced at 99p at the time of writing this post, it does change quite often though.)
Have you tried this 99p Beauty Blender? Or have you found any other bargains? I’d love to know!
