Well, I was supposed to be on a spending ban this month and didn’t really expect to be posting a favourites but it turns out I tried more new things than I thought so here I am with my February Favourites.
A while back Avon released their brand new Supreme Nourishing Lipstick and of course I had to give one a try. Most days I wear liquid lipsticks but when I thought about what I’ve used the most this month I realised how much I actually used this gorgeous lipstick. I chose the colour Nurturing Nude of course, you all know my love for nudes. And it’s beautiful! It’s soo soft and creamy, even the lipstick itself is stunning.
I also finally got myself a custom eyeshadow palette! I’ve been wanting on of these forever but just never got round to getting one but when I noticed that NYX has introduced the line to their UK counters of course I couldn’t help myself. I am planning on doing a separate post for the palette so I’m only going to share 3 of the colours with you as save the rest. I don’t think I’ve ever bought an eyeshadow palette where I’ve loved every single colour and that’s the main reason I’ve always wanted to create my own. The first 3 shades that I bought were a neutral brown, a light shimmer and a burgundy pink, the lightest is Sex Kitten, the brown is Guilt Trip and the Pink shade is Flustered Nerveux. They are amazing, so pigmented and soft, easily blendable and just look stunning.
At the beginning of this week I shared a review of the new L’Oreal Infallible Foundation and Primer and if you read it, you’ll know how obsessed I am with them both. They foundation is by far one of the best drugstore foundations I have ever tried and the primer is just as good. I always bang on about how good L’Oreal are at creating foundations to match your skin tone and they got it perfect again. I never have to worry that my face is a different colour from my neck haha. I can’t get enough of it. Plus they last, really well and so far I haven’t experienced any problems with it, now I’m stuck between my two favourite primers and foundations.
I also tried out an eyebrow pencil this month which is very unusual for me. My sister bought the Sleek Eyebrow Stylist for herself but turned out it was too dark for her so she gave it me to try and I love it. I’ve mentioned before that I use a eyeshadow powder for my brows simply because it’s perfect for me and I’ve never tried anything else and loved it as much but now I’m a bit obsessed with this pencil. I do still fill my brows in with powder, but quite often I’ve just used this pencil. I love the way it’s shaped the most, because pencils like this are just so much easier to use and altogether look more natural.
I’ve also become obsessed with the LA Girl Pro Conceal concealer again. I used to love the coverage of this concealer but somehow I managed to forget about it, I had a clear out not too long ago and came across it again and rekindled the love. I only wish I’d bought a lighter shade so that I could use it for highlighting under my eyes too.
Of course I’ve got a couple of books to share with you this month. They’re both quite big so I only managed to make my way through 2 although I’m already well into another haha. The first book I read in February was Murder House. At first I really didn’t like it and usually I don’t stick to a book I can’t get into but I kept at it anyway and finally after about 8 chapters I was hooked. Quite a lot of the book was focused on a court case and I think that’s what drove me a bit mad, it seemed to go on forever, but once the trail was over, it really got good and the story took off. Turned out it was completely full of unexpected twists and a story I did not expect, I absolutely loved it!
I mentioned in my 5 Books I Can’t Wait to Read post that I was reading Flowers In The Attic, a complete classic. My mum & my Grandma had told me to read this loads and I just didn’t expect it to be good so I never bothered. Finally I gave in and gave it a try. Instantly I was hooked. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a horrible story and the fact that is based on a true story makes me feel even worse for reading it but it’s just so gripping, from page to page even if it is a bit disturbing. As soon as I finished Flowers In The Attic I picked up Petals In The Wind and I’m nearly finished with that one too! If you’ve never read these unbelievable books I’d definitely recommend them.
