If you’ve not heard of the Blogosphere Magazine before, firstly where have you been? and secondly you are now in the right place. Whenever I post a picture of the magazine on my Instagram I get quite a lot of questions, so it seems quite a lot of you are interested to find out more about it, so I decided that writing a post answering all your questions and just explain a bit what Blogosphere Magazine actually is because I think it would be pretty helpful.
So, about 3 years ago Alice Audley decided to create something amazing, which turned out to be the incredible Blogosphere Magazine. I only came across it half way through last year, and the first magazine that I got was issue 10 I think. I picked up from WHSmith just on the off chance after seeing it mentioned a few times on Twitter, but honestly I didn’t really know all that much about it except that it is written by bloggers, for bloggers. I had no idea what it would be like. I had a quick flick through in the shop and I was honestly in pure amazement and of course I bought it. Once I’d finished the magazine I knew I needed to subscribe. I signed up for the bronze subscription which costs only £25 for the whole year and you get every magazine delivered right to your door before it hits the shops with an event supplement and a cover star poster! I was also very lucky to sign up on the day that they were offering a copy of every magazine for £40 (I think) I couldn’t miss this offer since I’d loved the current issue that much, so I spoiled myself to all of them. I was pretty gobsmacked the day they all arrived and I’ve not been disappointed once, they are incredible.
I don’t even know how to put into words how amazing this magazine is. I’ve only been blogging for a year and a half so blogging was already pretty big when I started but I have always read blogs, so I did know it wasn’t as big as it is now and I’ve seen how much it has evolved, how quickly blogging is making it’s mark on the world. But, I never even thought about a magazine being published specifically for bloggers, I’m very glad Alice did. This magazine has given so much to the community, it’s so powerful, it just goes to show how bloody brilliant we all are and we deserve it. It showcases what we can do, what we’re are capable of, how we help eachother and how strong blogging really is.
So, I’ll get on with what’s in the magazine now shall I.
Blogosphere Magazine is issued quarterly every year with each issue beating the last because so many new features are added each time. At the moment, each magazine contains a special editors note from Alice herself, interviews with all different kinds of bloggers, tips and tricks that are written by bloggers and a whole double page spread of Instagram snaps of the last Blogosphere magazine that have been taken by us! There’s also #inthespotlight where 3 bloggers are chosen to be interviewed, 8 blogging categories (travel, fashion, fitness, photography, beauty, food, lifestyle and parenting) where each category has an editor who is also a blogger and they choose 5 bloggers to feature, each chosen blogger gets a blog post included so you can see their writing style, and a 5 minutes with.. where 1 blogger answers a quick few questions at the end of the magazine so you can get to know them. Blogosphere seriously has it all going on.
Blogosphere also has it’s very own ‘community’. They run a Twitter chat every Sunday, they hold special events for bloggers and they celebrate big announcements on Twitter so we can all be involved. Alice herself loves to get involved with everyone holding Instagram lives so we can see what’s going on behind the scenes and sharing sneak peaks into their events which really makes it feel special and a lot more fun. They also have a blog that’s a really good read too, so make sure to take a look at that!
One of my favourite things about this magazine is how varied it is. You’d expect to only see huge bloggers being featured and interviewed but that’s not the case at all, stats don’t matter when it comes to choosing who is featured in this magazine, it’s just all about you, your voice, how you write and what you write about. That’s exactly what the blogging world is about. I’ve found tons of amazing bloggers since subscribing to this magazine that I now adore. It’s lovely to know that people are getting the exposure that they truly deserve even if they don’t have the unbelievable stats that take years to build. It’s empowering and inspiring.
Another thing that I adore about this magazine is how beautifully made it is, you definitely don’t want to be throwing it out after you’ve finished reading it. It looks amazing and it makes a perfect photography prop! The other reason you don’t want to be throwing it out once you’ve read it is because you will most likely want to check back on it later. I’ve looked back on them loads since having them, mainly as a way to boost my motivation but also to read their tips and tricks. I’ve already mentioned that each issue shares quite a few pages crammed full with tips and tricks and the latest issue, (12) is no exception. This issue contains tips for going live on Instagram and everything you need to know about web hosting and Elizabeth from Rosalilium also shares her secrets on the best blogging apps that you can make money from! What more could you want. I can’t wait to see what’s going to be shared in the next issue already.
The Blogosphere Magazine is very different from your usual mag in a quite a few ways but something I know you’ll all love is the fact there isn’t 100’s of pages filled with stupid ads, this magazine has over 150 pages filled with bloggers and only the occasional ad which actually fits in with what your reading! Oh and there’s quite a lot of pages with beautiful photography making the magazine even more stunning. The whole magazine seems very ‘blog like’ it’s different and perfect, it’s pages are thick and luxurious, and like I’ve already mentioned, the photography is gorgeous. Also, bit random, but the smell is also addictive, just like the smell of a new book, I love it.
So for the questions I get asked a lot – They do ship worldwide so even if you’re not in the UK you are able to get your hands on this beautiful magazine but you do have to subscribe (I think) and here’s where you can check that out. If you don’t want to subscribe, you can pick up the latest magazine in your local WHSmith but I’ve heard it’s quite varied to when they will actually be in stock, it works out at only £1 extra to subscribe so it’s worth it, then you’re guaranteed to receive every single copy plus the event supplement and a gorgeous poster. It’s a really good, fun, inspiring read that I cannot recommend enough, I’m already looking forward to the next issue and this one hasn’t even been out long haha!
