One thing that I have always loved is a good pedicure, ever since I studied beauty I became obsessed with caring for my feet. I’ve always got the pumice stone on them and I never forget to moisturise, it’s just become part of my routine, but one thing I was missing was a mask. I’ve had a couple of masks done before but I’ve never owned one to do it myself, until Christmas when my lovely mr spoiled me to the Lush Volcano Foot Mask. I managed to make my way though that tub quite quickly actually and now I’m nearly done with my second tub (even more has gone out of this tub since taking these photos) so, if you haven’t already guessed, I love this foot mask and if you want to know why, keep on reading.
So, the Volcano Foot Mask contains everything you could ever want to keep your feet feeling and looking soft and healthy. There’s pumice, which if you don’t know is basically a rock you use to scrub your feet to keep them soft. There’s fresh papaya which is for stimulating and brightening, I think it works to ‘burn’ away dead skin and there’s lemon for cleansing. There’s even fresh tomatoes to deodorise and refresh your feet to keep them cool. There’s also menthol & cinnamon that create a really overpowering smell that in all honesty, isn’t that great, but the good news is that’s the only downside. There’s a bunch of other random ingredients too but I’m guessing these 4 are the main ones that work to get your feet feeling and looking beautiful.
It’s really easy to use, and not very messy. The mask is very clay like, quite thick and wet so it all holds together, it doesn’t really break apart and fall all over the place but it’s definitely better to apply it over the bath just in case, the main problem is getting it off your hands after without getting it everywhere haha. The you just wrap your feet in cling film for 20 minutes while all the ingredients get to work. After a little while you can nip back up to the bath, remove the clingfilm and give your feet a good scrub, this is when the pumice gets to work. Then, simply wash it off. Pretty straight forward.
It does feel slightly uncomfortable though not in a painful way but in an annoying way, it’s like there’s constantly a fan blowing on your feet which is down to the menthol and tomato and after you’ve washed it off your feet feel cold even when they’re not, it’s perfect for summer or when you’ve been on your feet all day.
As soon as you start to wash it off you notice a difference, your skin feels instantly better. Definitely softer but they also look really healthy, and that’s all down to the ingredients that boost your circulation and help to brighten up your skin. This little pot is now a staple in my pamper sessions, but I don’t know what I’m going to do when I run out because I’m meant to be on a spending ban! I do know though that this little beauty will be purchased again even if I have to wait a little while because I love it, and I’ve got to have another tub before summer!
