Younique Touch A La Mode Luminizer
Having a sister in law that sells Younique is amazing, I get the chance to try most of the things out and decide whether or not to buy it before diving in head first, so when she told me about their new Luminizer, I couldn’t wait to try it. Just looking it at, I knew it’d be amazing. I already have a massive obsession with two of Youniques products, the skin perfecting concealer and the mineral touch pressed powder so I had massive high hopes for their new luminizer.
There’s a lot of confusion with highlighters/luminizers and what ever else, but to me, this is a highlighter, for your cheekbones, nose, cupids bow and brow bone. I think luminizers are meant for all over the face, this would definitely not be possible unless you want to look like you’ve put your face in a bowl of glitter, so with that being said, to me, this is a highlighter, not a ‘luminizer’, now that’s out of the way, lets get on with the review shall we?
I think Youniques packaging is always really good quality, everything always seems sturdy, it needs to be for the price! This pan is the same style as the rest of the range, black with white writing, neutral and sophisticated I guess, but this pan is a lot smaller than their usual pans, a bit disappointing since it is one of their more higher priced products, but with the amount you actually use, I’d say it’s good value for money.
The colour that I’m using is Benevolent, a beautiful Golden Frost that couldn’t be more perfect. I’ve read somewhere that it has multi-toned pigment pearls to match to your skin tone, not sure where I read it so I’m not too sure how true it is, but it seems to match my skin tone perfectly so it could be true, and there’s four other colours, ranging from a light white to a dark brown.
The quality is amazing, I honestly don’t think it could be made any better. The first time I swatched it, I knew I’d love it and I knew I’d be obsessing over it until I run out. The pigment is incredible, which I suppose is sometimes a bad thing when it comes to highlighters but that all depends on what type of highlighter you like, but you only need to apply the tiniest bit to get a beautiful sun kissed glow. The texture is also gorgeous, it feels so creamy, not powdery in the slightest, it doesn’t even feel like a powder it’s that soft. And it lasts, really lasts, I’ve looked in the mirror 10 hours later and it’s still there as glowing as it was when I’d first applied it.
I still love my trusty highlighter in the Rimmel Sculpting Palette, but I think I’ve definitely found another favourite and now I have the struggle of deciding which I want to use every day. I couldn’t recommend this Luminizer more if you’re looking for a full on glowing highlighter, it’s definitely one of the best I have ever tried, I love it.
