NEW L’Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara

I caved – I’m not meant to be spending money on makeup, and I certainly don’t need another mascara but I just couldn’t help myself and it wasn’t my fault, it was everywhere & so many people were saying how incredible it was that I just needed to have it. So of course, as soon as I could, I basically ran to Superdrug and snatched up the New L’Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara.

On first impressions, I can’t fault it. The packaging is beautiful and every bloggers dream. The American version is even more beautiful and I’m just a little bit jealous, but the mascara itself is exactly the same, as far as I know anyway. The brush is just. & it looks like the perfect dupe for the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara with a slightly less hourglass shaped applicator. It’s completely packed with bristles, and it’s not plastic so it’s a huge win for me. The formula seems thicker than most mascara’s so it’s not as wet as they usually are when you first open them and that will make it so easier to apply. I actually couldn’t wait to try it that much that as soon as I got home I was putting it on.

Just one coat made my lashes incredibly long, I was so surprised at how well it works with so little effort. There was instant volume and my lashes looked so much thicker. Another coat added even more volume and pushed my lashes up to give them a feathered curl, making them look even longer. I had to work a little bit to keep my lashes from clumping, but that usually happens with a completely fresh mascara, and it was quite easy to split them anyway. It’s buildable, you can add as many layers as you want and it will work to keep them looking perfect. As I always do, I paired it with my Avon Supershock – I really didn’t need to, at all, but you know me. The results were amazing. The Supershock worked to split every last lash from eachother to fan my lashes out to give even more of a feathered look, and it took away any build up on the tip of my lashes while the Paradise gave the volume and the length. I think I will be using these two for quite a while.

It’s been about a week now since I first tried it (I couldn’t wait any longer to share it with you), and I’ve been wearing it everyday since I haven’t had it that long & I am still completely head over heels for it. I’ve worn it alone of course to give it a proper test for you, and I can confirm, it is perfect. I’ve not had any smudging, even when it’s been quite humid (it’s not really been sunny, our Summers already ended to be honest) It’s not dried up and flaked and it hasn’t lost it’s colour at all. It doesn’t feel heavy either, it packs your lashes with volume, but feels really comfortable to wear. Removing it is just as easy, I was quite surprised really but it came off just fine with a basic cleanser, there was no messing about.

I’m so happy that I gave in and treat myself to yet another mascara because I can see me loving this for a very long time.

Have you tried the new L’Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara?

I can’t remember the last time I used a drugstore mascara but the packaging of this one makes me want to add it to my collection so bad! Great to know that it works well too, as my sad lashes need all the help it can get. Thank you for the review!

There’s been so brilliant releases more recently, especially from L’Oréal, they know how to make a mascara haha! It adds so much length I am sure you’ll love it! Thank you for the comment! Xx

This does sound like a great mascara, glad you’re enjoying using it! You mentioned the brush was almost a dupe for the Better Than Sex by Too Faced, how does the actual mascara stack up if you have tried Better Than Sex? x

Yes it’s become a firm favourite! & I haven’t tried it ☹️ but, as soon as I saw that it was practically the same style brush I did a little googling and quite a few people have said that it’s better than the Better Than Sex! I can’t comment, but I know it’s bloody amazing 😊 xx

You metioned had to work to stop it clumping? It’s still ok though? I hate clumping mascaras it puts me off so much and I really want to try this. I love the Wand of this.

Yeah, it’s a little wet at first, so it sticks together so you have to move the brush about a bit and split your lashes but it’s nothing major at all, no where near as bad as some, plus the length and volume makes it so worth it xxx

Woah, this looks really similar to their Lash Paradise mascara. Have you tried that one? And if you have, how does it compare to that?

It’s the same but this is the uk version (I think anyway) they release different packaging. Have you tried it? Xx

I tried this as soon as I heard all the good reviews but I had mixed feelings to be honest, think I’m going to give it another chance and test it out for a while again because I haven’t yet seen a single bad review, so hopefully I can get it to work!!

Maybe it was because it was fresh? Usually mascaras work better when they’ve dried up a bit or try it with another brush too to see if it helps? That’s how I usually get a mascara to work best for me xxx
