Four Blush Favourites
Blushers are of course an all year round thing, but I actually become more obsessed with them during the colder months and tend to use them more than I do any other time of the year and that’s because my favourite look for the Autumn/Winter is a blushed cheek. The brown tinted blushers are going away now, so I’ve been having a nosey through all my other blushers to pick out my favourites for the colder months. I’ve chosen four that I absolutely adore.
Although it really doesn’t look like it from the photo, Youniques Minerals Pressed Blusher in Sweet has a beautiful red undertone to it that adds a gorgeous flush to the check that you cannot get with any other blush, it has got to be one of my favourite blushers that I’ve ever used, and even more so at this time of the year. It’s a matte finish but it does have a tiny hint of a shimmer added to it, it’s barely visible but does add that little bit of life that your skin might be needing after months of sunny weather, it also means you can add just that little bit more highlight without it being too much.
The Revlon Blush in Racy Rose is quite a close colour match to the Younique Sweet for a fraction of the price if you’re wanting something a little bit more affordable. It doesn’t have as much of a red undertone it’s more of a dark shade of pink & looks just as beautiful. It’s got a satin finish so it does add a good amount of glow to the cheeks as well as a nice amount of colour – it’s perfect if you’re wanting to add a pink flush to the cheeks and go in with the highlight.
The Collection Blush in Bashful is one of the most recent blushes that I’ve added to my collection, as soon as I saw the colour in store I had to buy it. This one is quite far away from the usual red undertones that I reach for at this time of the year, this definitely has a more of a coral tone to it and I would have usually preferred to use this during the Summer but I’ve been using it quite a lot for more subtle simple looks recently. It doesn’t have a strong pigment like the others I mentioned, it’s really soft and light but still adds a nice colour to the cheeks.
The Colourpop Blush in Birthday Suit is a pretty cream blush in a light pink shade. I don’t usually go for cream blushes ever, but after trying this one, I think I became a bit obsessed – the Colourpop blushers are amazing, so creamy and so blendable – I don’t usually go for a pink blush at this time of the year either but the subtle hint of pink that this adds to the cheek is perfect for a cute Wintery look and I cannot get enough of it.
