5 Things I’ve Learnt Since I Started Blogging

I’ve been blogging now for nearly two years and looking back, I’ve realised how much I’ve actually learnt – two years ago I didn’t know a single thing, I definitely wouldn’t have been able to tell you how to write a blog post never mind anything to do with coding. There’s hundreds of things that I’ve learnt since starting my blog, but if I wrote about all of them we’d be here forever, so I’ve managed to round it down to five things and I thought it’d be nice to share them with you.

Just be you. – I was so discouraged when I first discovered bloggers, everyone seemed so perfect and I knew that I wasn’t. I’m not a photographer, I don’t shop at Vivienne Westwood and I don’t eat at 5 star restaurants. I then found the incredible blogging community and soon realised that no one’s perfect. I let go of the pressure and realised that just being yourself without feeling any lesser than anyone else is the best thing to do.

There’s not enough adjectives in the world – I’m fed up of describing everything as amazing, beautiful, gorgeous etc, and I know you all must be fed up of reading it too. But, like I said, there’s just not enough adjectives in the world.

Staying organised is so important – In my first few months of blogging I was all over the place. My posts were never up on time, my photo’s were shocking because I was rushing to take them and I just had no idea what I was doing. I was soooo stressed out! But I finally got myself in order, I started scheduling weeks ahead, taking bulk photos and generally being organised and now I feel so much better and it helps me stay motivated too.

You’re always learning – It just never stops, ever. There’s so much to learn all the time. A few months ago I thought my photo’s were pretty good, but I look back now and think, they could have been so much better and I bet in a few months time I’ll look back at my photo’s now and think exactly the same and that’s because I’ll learn a new technique or I’ll find a new app – there’s just always something new to learn.

Blogging is the best thing I’ve ever done – a bit cliche but seriously. When I started this blog I didn’t think I would still be here nearly two years later, I had no idea where it would go, I didn’t know if it would work out, and I did not expect to love it just as much as I do. I’ve made friends that I never would have otherwise and I’ve learnt so many things I never would have if I didn’t start Jessica Jade Beauty. It’s been an incredible experience so far and I’m really looking forward to seeing where it goes next.

Now it’s your turn to tell me what you’ve learnt since your started blogging.

I’m the same – I feel like I’ve learnt so much already but there’s still so much to learn! I went back and edited my old posts a while ago and I couldn’t believe how much I felt like I needed to change them! They really weren’t the best! x

Your photos are stunning now, that’s for sure! I’ve been blogging for just over 4 months and feel like there’s so much more to learn, it never really ends. But that’s what I love most about it, and being yourself really is the most valuable advice I could have had at the start. I always wondered where people got the cash to splash out on so many luxury products to review every week (assuming that they weren’t PR samples)… here’s to many more years of fun!

Thank you so much! Honestly means the world! I still feel like that, I definitely still feel like a newbie to all this haha! Same, I definitely don’t have the money to splash on all the new products and I’m not really ashamed about that anymore because it’s just me & I feel a lot more comfortable with it now.
      Yes! Here’s to many more!!

There is definitely not enough adjectives! I end up using wonderful and fantastic etc which I never say out loud, just to add some variety. I completely agree with learning as well. Every month, I seem to have more understanding on how to write, take images and even market. This is a really nice post. 🙂

Definitely not haha! Haha same, just trying to find some other word to express how much you love something is hard! Yes we’re learning all the time!
      Thank you 💖💖

I’m pretty new to the blogging world as far as things go, and it was only last month that I managed to sit myself down and give myself a solid posting schedule to stick to! Taking photos in advance definitely helps, although I’m still waiting for the day I can finally invest in a decent camera rather than just using my phone 😂

I still feel new too haha! Blogging schedules made such a difference for me and taking photos before writing helps a lot too, kind of spurs you on a bit haha. Haha I am too so don’t worry, I think I’ll be relying on my phone for quite a while though because I can’t bring myself to buy a camera 😂 xx

The adjectives comment really made me giggle – so true! Great points that I totally agree with. I wouldn’t be the person I am now without my blog!
