Younique Moodstruck Addiction Palette 2
Last month I reviewed and shared swatches of the Moodstruck Addiction Palette 1 and it turned out to be a very popular post so as promised, I’m back today with a short review and swatches of Palette 2. Here’s the review of Palette 1 if you want to have a read.
Moodstruck Addiction Palette 2 – Cool Shades of Black and Silver – is kind of like Palette 1, all the shades are soft neutrals but unlike the first palette that was filled with warm tones, this one is a lot cooler and there’s a lot more lighter shades in this palette too. You get a nice variety of colours, instead of it being a basic nude palette, it’s a mix between nudes, golds and silvers which all go quite well together. There’s 7 colours in altogether so I’ve managed to create quite a few different looks experimenting with each shadow. There’s also a black which is perfect for a day to night look or adding a smudged liner which is currently my favourite look.
You get a good mix of shimmer and matte, there’s 3 mattes and 4 shimmers, just like the last palette, the shimmers are a lot better quality than the matte shades, they feel very buttery which gives them a lot more pigment, whereas the matte shades feel quite powdery, the first matte though, Honorable, is really good quality actually, very soft with loads more pigment than the others even though it is a lighter shade. It does mean you get a bit of fall out with the mattes which is a shame, but if you’re careful it’s not too much to worry about, but it does effect the staying power a bit. The shimmers last better than the matte shades, in fact they don’t loose their intensity what so ever. I’ve tried them all with and without a primer and the primer makes such a difference, it instantly changed my feelings towards the palette and it’s made me love it a lot more than when I was using it without. The pigment of all the shades intensifies and they last a lot longer too.
My feelings are pretty much the same as the last palette, but I would say this one feels like it’s a bit better quality because of the pigment of most of the shades, only 2 out of the 7 were quite disappointing but they’re definitely still usable and they work well with a primer but again it’s definitely overpriced. If I had the money to splash then I’d probably buy it simply because I adore every colour in it, and I am currently obsessing over light shimmers, which this palette offers a lot of, and it’s not the worst palette I’ve had, it’s definitely up there with some of my favourites.
