Barry M Cosmic Lights Highlighter Palette
Since it’s party season, I couldn’t think of anything better to chat about than the gorgeous Barry M Cosmic Lights Highlighter Palette which has quickly become a staple in my makeup bag. I have to say, before this palette I was definitely more of a soft highlight kinda’ girl, with the exception of the Sleek palette, but I have been completely converted and glowing is what life is all about. Since I’ve fallen head over heels for this palette, I had to share it with you.
It might be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but I don’t usually like Barry M’s packaging, I’m much more of a simplistic girl when it comes to makeup packaging, but I must admit, I have fallen for this palette, for both the packing and the product, and I did so the second I laid my eyes on it. It is a cardboard palette, but it does feel sturdy, and I can’t imaging it getting damaged easily, plus you don’t have to worry about the hinges breaking on you which is always a plus. And of course it’s in a gorgeous light blue pan with pretty holographic silver writing, which is enough to catch anyone’s eye.
But it’s not about the packaging is it? So let’s get onto the highlighters. The palette comes with 6 different highlighters, 4 of which are cream, and 2 are powder. To me, it’s a bit of a shame it’s not the other way around because I much prefer a powder highlight to a cream because you can get way more out of a powder, but they are all beautiful colours so it won me over and I have of course tried them all. There is a soft peach tone, a white purple tone, a bronze, a pale pink, a white toned blue and a gold/yellow tone all included in this palette so whichever look your going for, you’ll find the perfect highlight to match.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the cream highlighters work absolutely beautifully and you can achieve that blinding glow if you apply enough, but the powders, as I expected, have much more pigment, to the point you have to be careful that you don’t apply too much. The two middle shades, (the pink and the blue) are absolutely crazy and I cannot stop using them, and if you haven’t already figured, I have become completely obsessed with this palette and now I dying to try their chrome highlighters!
