Instead of doing a favourites of 2017, like I did last year, I thought I’d talk about my favourite makeup product ever, which is of course mascara. I tried, and loved a hell of a lot of mascara’s last year, it’s actually took me quite a while to round it down to an acceptable number. Somehow I have managed it though and I have 7 favourites to share with you.
Of course I have to mention Avon Supershock, THE best mascara I have ever used. I don’t think I even need to say anything about this mascara because I’ve talked about it so much. I adore the brush on this mascara, it’s perfect for separating your lashes and stopping them from going clumpy and of course it gives brilliant volume, length and curl.
L’Oreal Paradise Extatic
The Paradise Extatic falls in a very close second to the Avon Supershock, I only stared using it towards the end of 2017 but it quickly became one of my favourite mascara’s ever. I was completely amazed by how well this mascara adds volume, I’m not even exaggerating at the fact that this mascara needs only one coat for dramatically full lashes and because it dries so quickly, it needs no effort to add a curl that lasts all day. The only downside in my eyes is that it runs out.
You can read all about my love for this mascara here.
Maybelline Lash Sensational
This is a mascara that I love for one reason, and on reason only, the curl. That’s not to say it isn’t amazing at adding volume and length, because it is, but it’s absolutely incredible at defining that curl and keeping it there, forever. I think I’ve made my way through about 5 or 6 tubes or mascara this year, it’s one that I never forget to repurchase.
L’Oreal Miss Hippie
If you saw my review back in 2016, you’ll already know exactly why I love this mascara and why it was definitely a favourite throughout 2017, infact, if you just read any of my blog you’ll know because this mascara was all I ever talked about and that’s because this mascara fans out your lashes like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I can’t even explain it, but if you’ve used it before you’ll know exactly what I mean. Instead of just lifting your lashes up, it pushes them out too giving a beautiful feathered look.
Buxom Lash Mascara
I’ve got to thank the gorgeous Jackie for this one, if you read this post, you’ll know that she surprised me to the amazing Buxom Lash Mascara a couple of months ago and it quickly became a staple in my makeup bag. As soon as I saw the brush I knew I’d be hooked on it and I definitely am. It’s absolutely amazing at adding length and even though it’s quite a thick mascara, the brush works perfectly to keep your lashes split up and spreads them out so nicely leaving volume in all the right places.
Rimmel Volume Colourist
It might be a bit obvious why I love this mascara, plus you might have seen it recently in my mascara cocktail, but I still need to tell you how amazing it is. If you regularly have your lashes tinted, but find that it is a massive task, then worry no more because this mascara has you covered. Admittedly, it doesn’t last as long as a proper tint, but it definitely does tint your lashes, really well too. It’s a pretty good mascara as well, adds a nice curl, gives good length and it’s also really good at adding volume too. It will definitely be a favourite of mine for a very long time.
Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara
It was only November when this mascara became a valuable addition to my makeup bag, and that’s because it’s literally like a pair of falsies in in a tube. I’ve explained all my excitement about this mascara in this post if you’d rather have a read of that, but to sum it up, it’s basically very, very good at adding volume and length, to the point that you have to be careful you don’t add too much. It’s madness and it’s wonderful.
