What I Got For Christmas: Makeup Edition.
I did plan a full ‘What I got for Christmas’ post this year, but after looking at the amount of makeup I received, I decided it’d be a good idea to just stick to makeup, especially with how long this post’s going to end up being. I apologise in advance. Also, it’s quite focused on four makeup brands and that’s because I was asked which brands I use a lot and which I don’t, and I didn’t want anyone going mad and spending too much on me so I attempted to keep the price down a bit, but I don’t think that worked because I’ve been completely spoilt and I’m over the moon with everything I received. I couldn’t thank my mum, sister and Stuart enough, they have made me a very happy girl. Now here’s the usual disclaimer – I am not writing this post to show off, I’m simply sharing what I got for Christmas because we are all nosy people. Right, let’s get on with it, here’s all the makeup bits I got for Christmas!
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
This concealer has been on my to buy list for months now, every time I’ve gone to get it, it has literally never been in stock. But somehow, my beautiful sister managed to finally get her hands on it for me and you should have seen my face when I opened it. I’ve used it quite a lot since Christmas, and it’s definitely living up to my expectations, but I’m not saying more about it because I’ll be sharing a full review soon!
Maybelline The Burgundy Bar Palette
My mum know’s that I absolutely love the Maybelline shadow palettes. She bought me two last year and she’s seen how obsessed I am with both of them so when she saw that there was a new palette out, I don’t think she could help herself, and even though when it was first released I wasn’t that keen, actually looking at the shades has definitely made me change my mind. I think it’s up there with my top palettes to be honest, every colour in it is beautiful.
Max Factor Master Piece Nude Palette
Another gorgeous palette that my mum has spoiled me to, she said that she only got the other Max Factor things so she could get me this free gift because she knew I’d love it, and I bloody do, this palette has me written all over it. The gorgeous range of golds, bronzes and browns had me drooling the moment I opened it.
Maybelline Matte Maker Powder
I only realised when I opened this amazing present from my mum that I’ve never tried any Maybelline powders before, in fact I didn’t even know this one existed. It made me even more exited to try it. After the first swatch I decided I loved it, it’s so creamy which I didn’t expect and it’s the perfect shade for me too. I haven’t used it enough yet to decide how good it is, but I am sure you’ll hear all about it soon.
Maybelline Matte Ink – Loyalist
This is the only product that I picked myself this year, because as soon as I saw it, I had to have it and Stuart kindly offered to get it for me. I have obviously been using it religiously because it’s just gorgeous, but it’s also one of the comfiest matte liquid lipsticks I’ve used for quite a while and because it’s so amazing, there will obviously be a full review with swatches soon!
L’Oreal True Match Foundation, Creamy Concealer & Perfecting Concealer
My mum know’s my go to range is the L’Oreal True Match so she went a little mad and got me my all time fave foundation and both of the concealers. Her words were ‘I didn’t know which one to get so I got both’ and I of course, thanked her quite a lot. I’ve used the Perfecting Concealer before and loved it and of course I always use the foundation, but I’ve never tried the creamy concealer before. It’s definitely creamy, and it’s so easy to apply and it’s the perfect colour for brightening too, I absolutely love it!
Bourjois Volume Reveal Mascara
My sister actually planned to get me a mascara since she know’s about my obsession but then she realised that one comes with the free gift offer that they had on and she knew it would be perfect, so as well as her getting me two Bourjois products, she also gave me the free gift which included the very beautiful looking Volume Reveal Mascara (and a red lipstick & nail polish). I don’t think I’ve ever seen a mascara like it, but I’ll chat more about that in my review that will be up later on this month!
Max Factor Creme Puff Pressed Powder
This powder has definitely become a go to since Christmas, and since I’m running out of my beloved Stay Matte, I’ve been reaching for this stunner more and more. It does come with a very strong smell which some people might hate, but it smells quite like Lush so I think it’s nice really. Anyway, it’s a gorgeous setting powder, and it really does make your skin look flawless. I love it.
Bourjois Air Mat Powder
I don’t think I’ll be running out of powder anytime soon since this is the third powder I was gifted this year but I am really not complaining. I go through powder like there’s no tomorrow. This is one that my sister got me along with the Radiance concealer and although the colours a little darker than I usually go for, it’s amazing and to be honest, I could do with making myself look a bit more tanned since I’m white as snow and because it’s so soft, it blends in easily and doesn’t leave any ‘dirty’ marks.
L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes
Of course Christmas couldn’t go by without my mum buying me a mascara, but unlike usual, when she gets me the Avon Supershock, she wanted to try and get me a new one to try. Since I’ve tried so many, as she keeps reminding me, she had no idea what to get so she just went with one she thought I’d like, I have had it before, but I don’t mind one bit because I love this mascara and I am very grateful to have got it again.
Max Factor Matte Lipstick 05 Nude
Everyone know’s I love a nude lip, my mum especially since I’m always banging on about my favourites to her. But she know’s as well as I do that I own way too many light nudes and I need a bit of variety in my lip collection, so she found me this gorgeous matte one from Max Factor. It’s definitely not a colour I usually go for, but I do really like it, and it’s definitely not too dark, in fact I think it probably suits me better than what I normally go for.
Max Factor Colour Precision Highlighter
Being a powder highlight lover, I’ve got to admit, without seeming ungrateful, that I was a bit sceptical about this, I’ve tried applicator highlighters before and I’ve never really got on with them, but I swatched it straight away and I was so amazed by the pay off that I knew, even if I didn’t get along with the application that I would definitely be using it and I definitely have. I still don’t love the way you apply it, but oh my god, it is beautiful.
Maybelline Colour Correcting Pen Green
As it turns out, Stuart actually pays attention to me when I’m complaining because when I opened this, the first thing he said was ‘It’s for redness, isn’t it?’ I am always moaning about my red cheeks, and it’s one of the main reasons I always go for high coverage powders and foundations and I love using a green colour corrector, especially in the summer when a heavy foundation isn’t always an option so he got it spot on with this present and I’m so proud of him for knowing what a green colour corrector is for! I’ve used it quite a few times, but all I’m going to say is, I’m impressed – there will be a full review soon!
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
I think you all will be very happy to hear that I finally have the Fit Me Concealer! Everyone talks about this concealer all the time, and I’m always saying ‘I need to try this so bad‘ but I never, ever remember to pick it up. Well I don’t need to anymore, because Stuart, being the amazing person that he is, popped me this in my stocking. I now own enough concealer to last me a life time, but again, I am not complaining, in fact, I am a very happy lady.
Well done if you managed to make it to the end, that turned out to be quite a lot longer than I anticipated, but I hope you enjoyed seeing what I got!
Make sure to share what you got for Christmas, or if you’ve written a post, leave me the link please!
