Simple Makeup Favourites

I’ve been loving the simple look lately, don’t get me wrong though, I’m definitely more of a full face kinda’ girl, but I just haven’t had the time recently, and I’ve been a bit lazy. It has however led me to discover quite a few new favourites, and use my usual go-to products in a different way.

I always stick to the same base, even when I’m in a hurry, which is usually the L’Oreal True Match or the L’Oreal Total Cover. I mostly go for True Match though because it is a little lighter on the skin so it’s easier to blend out. & I usually pair it up with a soft brightening concealer. My favourite at the moment has to be the Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer. Again it’s quite full coverage, but I just don’t apply as much and it does help to wake my eyes up a little too, as well as cover the huge dark circles that I currently have.

I do change up my powder though, I find using my usual heavy duty powder way too much and it takes too much setting, so I’ve been using the Maybelline Matte Maker powder. I’ve not been using it long, but I love it so far. It’s really lightweight but still manages to hold your makeup in place pretty well. For contour, highlight and blush, I go back to my trusty Rimmel Sculpting Palette. This little beauty is perfect, no, it’s more than perfect, for a simple makeup look – all you need is in one pan, each colour is subtle but stunning and the highlight, well, I can’t even think of a word to describe it.

For a simple eye look, I always reach for a ColourPop Supershock shadow, current favourite is of course Hanky Panky, and Avon’s Supershock mascara for the lashes,, skipping out on the eyeliner. I have been trailing quite a few new mascara’s lately though, but you’ll have to wait to see what they are! Brows stay the same, I just don’t put as much effort into them as I usually would, but I rely on the Freedom Brow Duo to do them a bit of justice. I don’t usually wear anything on the lips, if I do it’d just be a lip balm, usually a Nivea one, but when my lips a real bad I always make sure to use the Blistex Lip Protector.

I have always been a full face or no face kind of girl, but the other day for the first time in forever I went for a simple makeup look. I didn’t use all the products I usually would, heck I didn’t even fill in my brows! But it was refreshing! I have had bad skin for so long that I couldn’t do the half makeup look, but with it clearing up it is so lovely to go more lightly with the makeup! Loved this post! xx

I used to be exactly the same, and I usually still use quite heavy things, I try and keep it as simple as possible, it makes all the difference and makes a full on glamour look feel all that more special too!
      Thank you! xxxx

I’ve recently been loving putting a full face of makeup on and I have been skipping out eyeliner too. I just find it such a pain to wear during the winter because I get really watery eyes. I loved reading this post 🙂 xx

That’s very true, I often have to avoid any under eye shadow too because it always comes off in the corners and looks so silly haha!
      thank you! xxx

I love the look of Hanky Panky! Perfect for the crease when you need a quick makeup look.
